The snakehead fish. From the Orient but new to Maryland. Someone released their pets in a pond.

Someone was raising bighead carp in Arkansas when the pond flooded. We now have them in the Illinois River. They're a real disaster for our native fish plus a danger to boaters. They tend to jump when startled like when a boat goes by. Getting hit by a 50 pound fish when running 50 doesn't sound fun.
