Simon. Sometimes there is no political mileage to be gained by pointing out the flaws in bad laws. In CA it is possible, with the help of the media to discriminate against out of state students and in favor of "undocumented immigrants" or illegal immigrants as some would more accurately depict them. If they can get most of the benefits of citizenship I think we should be able to run them as candidates for public office.;) This way we would be sure they're represented when they are taxed. The guest worker plan would seem to be a plan to take an oblique approach at the problem rather than facing up to the facts that we are cheapening citizenship at the altar of commerce. I think both Davis and Simon are smart enough. They're just being asked to deal with the idiotic requests of a population that's lost it's bearings on both ends of the compass. Government won't be able to fill the bill in the long run.
