Actually, I am often severely disappointed in my fellow man. Many of them are simply out for #1, which is most regrettable. Some are simply hebetudinous, although "dull" is a better word that people besides William F. Buckley can understand with four fewer syllables to boot. I do my best to avoid being so myself and some people recognize that. Even rich4eagle with whom I almost always disagree. (http://www.siliconinvestor.com/readmsg.aspx?msgid=17726406) Others, like Ray Duray, don't see it that way, but I'm not too sure about them either.
I'm disappointed because I probably tend to have rose-colored glasses in that I accept people at face value until they prove they are otherwise. Sometimes it costs me money, as in Enron. I believe, however, that it is a better way to live. I'd rather lose some money than distrust every person I meet.
I do have my prejudices. For example, when I see a man with a pony tail, I wonder if I could lift it up and see an excretory orifice underneath. I know many fine men who have pony tails, but they proved themselves either before or after they grew it. And I accept them for what I know to be a fact.
George Bush has done NOTHING to cause me to distrust him, unlike his predecessor who I wish would just fade away. |
