Saddam tied up considerable US effort for no return to US..Western Troops, embargo (Used by Saddam quite effectively-dying Arab babies, ets), Support all kind of terror groups, Hamas, suicide bombings,affects Prestige of USA by openly being in US face....If he is removed, there is downside,like break-up of Iraq, Kurdish unrest..but looks like Iran (public opinion) is moving away from Fascism, so Iraq as counerbalance to Ayatollah's are less important...
As for the Propaganda, it is necessary for the World, and Region public opinion to get used to the unevitable-Saddam got to go |
