The Star Trek Borg was a group of millions of brainwashed idiots, who had no interest in living and sought death. They never thought for themselves and followed commands to destroy civilisations without question.

The Borg was destroyed by infiltrating and introducing a disruptive thought, which confused them into turning on themselves.
