I completely agree with this method and if MSFT adopted it I believe it would have a very minimal effect on their earnings. The method Coke has chosen is in stark contrast to the doomsday scenarios described by jonkai.

uhhh, you need to do some quick and easy research.... if MSFT adopted Cokes method, MSFT's earnings they report to the street would be cut by a third on average, and you can easily look this up, because MSFT does do this method that coke is talking about....... MSFT just doesn't report these more accurate numbers to the street...

they show it as "pro forma" numbers in the back of their reports....

the reason Cokes numbers won't be affected as much is because Coke isn't handing out options like a kid in a candy store which MSFT is doing, so Coke doesn't have as big of a stomach ache every quarter.....

look it up, it will do you some good.... or atleast save you some money.... course if you had done it when i first suggested doing it.... it would have already saved you a ton of money and a whole lot of time....
