Well it has nothing to do with "Court " rulings
or the assumptions of foolish human reasonings.
but rather with the very "distinction' of the word...

And Paul summed it up in a few words concerning "circumcision...

Romans 2:29 But he is a Jew, which is one inwardly; and circumcision is that of the heart, in the spirit, and not in the letter; whose praise is not of men, but of God.

God is He who defined JEWS in the first place and in 70 AD plainly told the world that his people were not of blood but of SPIRIT..

A true JEW is a man born of the spirit and circumcised of heart....

Not a "citizen" of a nation called Israel which was destroyed in 70 AD for rejecting the Christ as foretold by Daniel the prophet and Christ himself but rather a man that loves God and obeys Him.
