All I can say is that the current racket about the cookbooking of major US corporations is exaggerated.... I mean, American capitalism doesn't boil down to accounting gimmickry! I just read BusinessWeek's latest European issue and it reported that Microsoft is the second largest market cap (after GE). So, what has made Microsoft so successful? Accounting trickery? Is Bill Gates a visionary genius or just the best bookkeeper America's ever had? And ORCL's Larry Ellison? And Michael Dell? Etc. I think it's time to get back to a more balanced view of corporate America and acknowledge that it's not all smoke and mirrors! US software companies did come up with great computer solutions... Hollywood movies enjoy a 75% market share in all of Europe's theaters because they're the best movies around --not because movie distributors cook their books! Etc, etc.
