Euro Rises to $1 for the First Time in More Than Two Years

London, July 15 (Bloomberg) -- The euro rose to $1 for the first time since February 2000 as demand for U.S. assets wanes.

Europe's common currency rose to $1.0025, from 98.93 late Friday. It has risen 14 percent in the past three months. The euro had traded below $1 since Feb. 24, 2000, and is about 14 percent below its January 1999 debut level of $1.16675. The dollar slipped to 115.85 yen, a 10-month low, from 116.79.
