"Mechanized scooter" Dude/dudette...I wouldnt write that one off so soon...history is full of inventions that, at first, seemed benign, but latest turned out to have amazing, important applications..

I think some real relevant possibilities exist: ie., a breaking of the auto/oil-gas model which leaves the U.S. heavy dependent on Saudi, etc. oil, and keeping a presence over there.....get rid of the oil dependency, and that has huge geo ramifications..

Also, too...would be the abject poverty that would occur over there (and Venezuela/Mexico, etc.) if oil price tanked permanently...Come to think of it, either way, I suppose, US/rest of world would be sending money to the region...either as "welfare" or in exchange for oil...

Let me rethink how important that scooter really is g,ng
