Would it take anyone with a net worth under $20 million this long to document all his assets and return any funds overseas to the US, or explain why he couldn't?

He really shouldn;'t have to. The siezure laws are being abused. Let's face it, Tony had a lot of what he had before they are accusing him of "turning bad" in his relationship with royer.

I wouldn't give him cheap bail because of the obvious intention he had of fleeeing before getting arrested. But that does not give the state the right to take his belongings. Other criminals with similar charges including royer and cleveland have not had every thing they owned seized. Most insider trading charges carry bail related to the alledged amount of insider selling. Why should this be different?

Bail could be made high enough to make it not worth his fleeing which is s.o.p. in the case of well-to-do defendants but he shoul at least be allowed his assets to bail and defend himself with. If the gov can prove or even allege a monetary amount to go with the charges then they shoould be able to seize that amount only.

Siezure laws in this country are widely abused and certainly not in cases where they would seem appropriate like the global crossing ceo's 92 million dollar house currently under remodel.
