<<You love freedom of choice except when it involves how to invest your social security, or how to educate your children.>>

This is one of the big lies about Social Security.

The money taken out of your check for SS, is not your SS, it's the SS of current retirees. The first generation to receive SS never paid in a dime.

The deal is that today's workers pay current retirees knowing that the workers of the future will pay for today's workers when they retire.

It's a social program that transfers wealth from one generation to the next. It's been that way from day one.

Why not argue SS honestly? If you don't like the idea of this generational transfer of wealth, just say so. Advocate abolishing it. Why pretend that SS is holding your money for you until you retire and therefore you should have some say over how it's invested? That's just not an honest argument.

The other big lie about SS is that it's on the verge of financial collapse. That's pretty much the exact opposite of the actual situation.

As for education, you already have free choice: send your kid to any school you want, or home school. Who's stopping you? If you're talking about funding public schools with tax dollars, why not address the fact that people without kids pay too? Where are their vouchers? Their freedom of choice?
