Intel may announce layoffs alongside earnings-WSJ biz.yahoo.com This has to be something major that impacts employees... this could be layoffs (RIF), major reorg, shutting down a business, selling off something, or even a reduction in pay. The reason it's being done at the same time as the CC is that they need to let the investors and analysts know during the call, and they do not want to leave the employees hanging. My guess is Intel may choose to take a charge for whatever they plan to put the worst news behind them. I believe whatever is announced tomorrow will include a reduction in headcount. I feel bad for the people, but this could be good for investors in both the near term and long term. Nitt
