<<my solution is politically unacceptable for turnaround>> jw: Interesting proposal....I like most of it BUT think it is essential to have things set up so Presidents are elected for one 6-year term -- and that's it...no focus on getting re-elected...they need total focus on WHAT's IN THE BEST INTEREST OF THE COUNTRY...I would also add that most cabinets contain quite a few 'yes men' (with a few women mixed in to be politically correct)...Maybe The President regularly should report to a board of 'outside directors' -- the best and brightest thinkers from all walks of life (folks like Buffet, Jack Welch, Bill Gates, etc)...This way they could get input and advice from some real experts who are out in the trenches...Selecting this board would be an interesting process - in a sense they would represent the people...Just some crazy thoughts from a Tuesday morning quarterback...=) regards, -Scott btw, we still need MEANINGFUL CAMPAIGN FINANCE REFORM too.
