I'm not suggesting that Robertson has the better argument, only that he seemed to me to have an argument based on principle and was willing to accept the consequences of it equally for both Christians and others. That makes his argument legitimate, IMO, and worthy of my respect even if I don't agree that it's the best approach.

There really isn't a perfect approach to this. If I knew of one, I'd be more critical of his alternative. Right now, he an I both have different imperfect approaches. I think mine is less imperfect than his, but I realize that's just my opinion.

There are so many squirrelly opinions on this issue that it pleases me to find one other than my own that I can at least respect as principled.
