Not at all... being short a futures contract is not the same as being in puts, long or short... I'm short the actual contracts, they have to be bought back at some point, they cannot be exercised on me until expiration day... there are also options on these contracts, but contracts themselves are not options... unless I missed what you're saying..... GZ
