This sort of journey is described repetitively in most major traditions.

In the Buddhist tradition, the Tibetan Book of the Dead is more or less a manual of how to conduct oneself "enroute".

Ralph Metzner and Timothy Leary wrote an updated version for LSD trips towards, into, and returning from the Cosmic Void. I used it a number of times and found it very helpful.

Debunkers do their usual thing of explaining in a derogatory fashion, from the sidelines, whilst knowing nothing whatsoever of what they are talking about. The best you can say about them is that some of them talk a good talk, but walking the talk is not in their lexicon.
