LOL, I remember listening to a radio station that had a guest from a trade show dedicated to protecting yourself for the upcoming Y2K problems. The guy was quoting how many of those chips had been sold in the past years that had clock circuits built in and that there would most likely world wide failure of everything. I called in and told them that their show was totally irresponsible, that although there were millions of chips sold that have a clock circuit in it, didn't mean that the application engineer that put that chip to use even utilized that capability. I pointed out that although my microwave alone probably used dozens of chips it didn't "know" the date, it wouldn't amount to anything. I also said to the station people they should point out on air that this guy stands to make out even better the more he could scare the people into coming to the show that week and spending their dollars on generators and such. The guest asked me if I wasn't worried at all, and I told him no that on New Years Day I was planning on propping my feet up in my nice warm house and watching football games on my TV. I offered to go on air to be a rebuttal call-in guest, they hung up on me!
