OI, VESPER AND ATL STRUGGLE FOR RETAIL SPOTS

Brazilian operators Oi and Vesper are struggling for retail point of sales with Telefonica, which claims exclusivity, according to local press reports.

Oi claims only 500 sales spots in Rio de Janeiro, while Vesper has 700 and plans to reach 1,200 by the end of 2002.

Telefonica did not make any comments concerning the issue, said the papers.
