wbmw,

re: Not bad for a quarter that otherwise disappointed.

On ICG, revenues increased sequentially, but were down YOY. The loss decreased both sequentially and YOY.

In WCCG, the revenue and the loss increased at about the same rate, sequentially. YOY the revenue was up slightly and the losses were down substantially.

And yes, I give credit to Barrett for taking the charges and closing the businesses in "Other". I don't give him much credit for starting them.

So now those "growth" businesses represent 21% of revenue, and in this quarter reduced profit by 53%. With the charges (which are not exactly a management endorsement).

This has been going on for years. Intel invested over $12Billion in those businesses. All they do is lose money. Intel doesn't trade on their revenue numbers.

re: So I can understand your continued impatience

When does the future get here? Intel would probably be a $50 stock (considering the original investment, the losses over the years, the reduced eps, the lack of focus) if not for Barretts great adventure. As a stockholder, yes, I am impatient.
