Dell is making some aPPle Juice Shares of Apple this year have underperformed Dell Computer Corp., the PC-maker rival which is actively pursuing consumers and education technology buyers, both key Apple bases. Apple shares have fallen about 18 percent, compared with a 4 percent drop by Dell. The quarterly results came as Apple works to expand its market share, which is about 5 percent of the U.S. market, with a revamped product line credited with reestablishing the company’s reputation for innovation.
