Osama 'in good health' CAIRO - Osama bin Laden is in good health despite being wounded in a US bombing raid in Afghanistan, according to Mr Abd al-Bari Atwan, the editor of the London-based Al-Quds Al-Arabi newspaper. He said sources close to the Al-Qaeda leader 'confirmed to me that Osama is in good health'. The terrorist icon had been injured during US bombing raids in December and had surgery to remove shrapnel from his left shoulder. 'It happened during the American carpet bombing of the Tora Bora mountains in Afghanistan,' said Mr Atwan, who refused to answer security-related questions or say how he had obtained his information. Osama's fate has been the subject of speculation since the first US strikes last October. --AP
