Eric,

Re:MSM6200 and June

Their first press release I saw on the subject stated

"SAN DIEGO - February 4, 2002 - QUALCOMM Incorporated (Nasdaq: QCOM), pioneer and world leader of Code Division Multiple Access (CDMA) digital wireless technology, today announced the radioOne(tm) 6200 chipset, consisting of..."

and

"...Samples of the radioOne 6200 solution are expected to be available in the third quarter of calendar 2002..."

And later in February

"Sample shipments of QCT’s MSM5200 chipset and system software are under way, with manufacturers designing products around the solution. Sample shipments of QCT’s 6200 solution are expected in the third quarter of calendar 2002. An MGP6200 chipset solution will be available inside a small, commercial-quality test phone from QUALCOMM in fourth quarter of calendar 2002 to enable commercial trials by wireless operators."

Then in june they announced

"The MSM6200 chipset solution, on schedule for sample shipping in September 2002, supports WCDMA at 2100 MHz, Extended GSM (EGSM) at 900 MHz and Digital Cellular System (DCS) at 1800 MHz."

Also in June

"QUALCOMM Announces World's First WCDMA/GSM Calls Using Direct Conversion Dual-Mode Chipset"

Then later in June

"QUALCOMM Accelerates Delivery of its WCDMA/UMTS/GSM/GPRS Multimode Solution. MSM6200 Solution Samples This Month"

I am not sure if they failed to accelerate the schedule. Are you sure no one is sampling the chip right now? But why would you call this late as long as they deliver by end of September?

Thanks
