Yes, but abandonment is also a reason for small-mid caps to form a bottom which would preceed the end of a bear market as confirmed by the major indices. Has the process of abandonment already occurred, or is it occurring right now? Junior companies have been fed wearing rags for a while even as the liquid stocks are washed-rinsed-dried, and reworn until transparent.

BTW, I think using p/e as a way to time tech buys almost ensures of being late to the party. Much like p/e are of little use in timing bottoms in other cyclics.
