What do you think of the Hedonic Pricing techniques used in generating the govt GDP and productivity stats?

I mean, do you think that a 2GHz P4 should be assigned a higher dollar value in 2002 for GDP purposes than it's actual dollar price, because it is "faster" than the 1GHz P3 that sold in the year earlier comparison period?

Or do you think that its a con?
