Mr. Andre Audet of Majescor Resources reports
MAJESCOR RESOURCES INC. AND CANABRAVA DIAMOND CORPORATION: SU ...
The summer 2002 field campaign has been completed on the Mistassini project
in Quebec.
A total of 294 samples of glacial sediments were collected in the course of
the campaign which was designed to meet the following goals: 1) ground
investigation of the highest-priority geophysical anomalies (selected from
a recent high-resolution geophysical survey) through glacial sediment
sampling and geological mapping; 2) detailed sampling near the head of
known dispersion trains and in the vicinity of other existing anomalous
sample sites to confirm targets; 3) increase of the overall sample density
within the property to locate additional dispersion trains; and 4) limited
regional sampling to better define the limits of the regional indicator
mineral anomaly.
Upon receipt of laboratory results, follow-up geophysics and drilling is
planned for the fall. Majescor is the operator of the exploration programs
and Canabrava is financing the work in order to earn a 50-per-cent interest
in the project.
The Otish Mountains area is a newly discovered kimberlite field. Results
recently released by Ashton Mining of Canada Inc. and its partner Soquem
have determined that all six kimberlites found to date are significantly
diamondiferous. The Mistassini project is well located within this new
kimberlite field and consists of more than 1,700 square kilometres of
mineral claims southwest of the Ashton Soquem properties.
