It is the Christian spirit and the historical reality of Christ and the Church that served as the engine to create and drive Christian/European Civilization. It is also this civilization that created, cultivated and universalized the concepts of free speech and intellectual freedom. This is where America received her spiritual and intellectual heritage, and she declines as she looses and deviates from that heritage.
