Jesica,
negative emotions are important, but they won't drive the stock price from 60s to 1s... LU fundamentals are such, that it may stop losing money in 2003 financial year... Would you invest your personal money in money-losing business in the sector that is not supposed to increase spending any time soon? Not many people would, right now...

LU is winning some good deals from financially-solid companies, but the bottom line is that it is still losing money.

Another important factor is that a lot of big financial companies (i.e. hedge funds) lent Lucent huge sums of money. To raise the money they shorted Lucent's stock. Some of them may have covered already, but they will try to short again once LU reaches certain price levels. If Lucent's business picture is not improving, there won't be a lot of buyers on fundamentals, and shorting will face minimal resistance.
