Mr O.L. de la Cuesta reports
The company has discovered two new kimberlite pipes in its Kenieba diamond project
in Mali, West Africa. These discoveries bring the number of known kimberlitic bodies
in the property to 25.
Measuring 36,000 sq km and the only diamond concession issued by the Malian
government, the Kenieba diamond property is held by the Ashton-Mink joint venture.
The project is now under Ashton's full management.
The latter followed the same procedure it effectively used in discovering the Delys
pipe announced in Stockwatch, July 10, to discover the new Tenin-Camara and
Kereko kimberlite pipes, i.e. test pitting anomalies identified by Ashton geophysicists
from Aerodat Inc's aeromagnetic data. Five tonnes of samples were collected from
each of the new pipes and are being concentrated in the JV's laboratory on site. The
resulting concentrates will be sent to Ashton's laboratories in Perth, Australia for
evaluation and analysis, particularly to establish the presence of micro and macro
diamonds.
