How about this for a x86 strategy: Beige boxes, AMD processor with direct sales over the internet. You don't have to worry about offending the channel and you create the opportunity to win customers for the "Real" Mac experience. Don't make them clunky, make sure the customer is satisfied but make the upgrade path clear. There has to be a way to bring new customers into the fold. david
