Ah, your labels don't bother me Mr. Long.....they are like most people's labels, a conveniently shorthand way of avoiding delving into the complexities of an individual's positions. <g>

The charts on that page, with the exception of the last one, were all capturing the collective result of private market and consumer decisions during the Clinton years (and a little before and since). Is it Clinton's fault that people took on more debt? Did Clinton sit on the boards or management of companies that took on more debt? Did Clinton declare bankruptcy on behalf of well over a million Californians while he was in office? No. He ran a part of the government. The part he ran inherited a deficit that in historic terms was incredibly large .... so large that nearly 20 million people voted for a loony bin mainly because he chose to make an issue of that one problem.

By the last couple of years in office, that deficit had been replaced by a surplus. So that last chart, the only one that in part captures government behavior, merely shows that the debt being run up by players other than the Feds continued to escalate during the bubble years.

I fail to see how that is Clinton's fault. I prefer to stick to blaming him for all the horrible stuff he did, and not saddle him with things he wasn't responsible for.
