The problem with your mule argument is that mules are not talked about with mucho gusto elsewhere. The creator gets a lot of mention in the letters, speeches, and contemporaneous documents of the time- but you won't find him lurking in the constitution, save for the date (a convention?). Most of the men who wrote the constitution were religious, and they certainly could have put God in it if they wanted to. Anyone who has read their other writings will know they could have liberally peppered the constitution with references to an almighty if they had wanted to. But they didn't do that.

Too bad we can't dig the old guys up and introduce them to you. If they were around today, and learned about our separation of church and state, I bet they'd be fascinated, and impressed. They'd hate the federal government though. If you want to hop into bed with the framers, you better start hopping up and down more about the humongous federal government we have.
