I know several people using basic linkys (sp?) wireless routers/hubs for "hot spots" in their homes. They are very inexpensive these days. Special wireless PCMCIA card required for laptops. Is this 802.11??

When I bought my wireless LINKSYS router I made it clear to the sales person that I eventually intended to buy a laptop and ad a PCMCIA card. The guy in line ahead of me was buying a wireless PCMCIA card for his laptop. I asked the sales person if this was 802.11 tech. and he said that it was. FWIW I usually take what sales kids say with a big tablespoon of salt.
