From AMD earnings release:

Income (loss)
before income
taxes (308,362)

Provision
(benefit) for
income taxes (121,493)

Provision
(benefit) for
taxes on
equity
income (loss)
in FASL (1,931)

Net income
(loss) $(184,938)

Wow. That's a pretty nice "provision for Income Taxes" that AMD has. Can anyone help me to understand this concept? I remember asking this question before, and I got some good input, but AMD seems to be losing their shorts, only to get a nice $123M break from Uncle SAM. Where does it come from? Has AMD paid so much in taxes over the past couple years that they are getting it all back now?
