That explains why it was not necessary to sprinkle the Constitution with positive affirmations about a Creator.
That's a possible explanation. Another is that they didn't want to mix religion and government.

IMO, the main reason for mentioning the Creator in the Declaration is that they were doing something radical and they typically wanted some big-name backup for the "self-evident" assertion.
