Wiring your hill might be easier than you think! You could have an electrician install flexible weatherproof conduit underground from your house to your patio for a nominal sum and just plug a new cable into your existing router. This type of wiring is done all the time for outdoor lighting. You could even put a weatherproof GFI plug at the patio via the same type of conduit (in the same trench but probably a separate conduit) so you don't have to run the laptop on batteries. Rick
