In 2Q, Nokia claims to have shipped 36 million phones within a global market of 93 million for a 38.7% market share. This is the first time Nokia has provided a numerical figure for the size of the world wide market it is judging itself against. Probably done to placate critics who have been claiming that Nokia is understating the market's size and thus overstating its market share. Excellent choice of Nokia management to tackle the debate head on.
