When interest rate rise from historically low levels, will households be able to reduce debt or will the rising cost of debt service impede the economic recovery? "Collapse" is always "absurd", but there are serious ramifications short of collapse. Hyperbole is the tool of shorts (longs) trying to panic longs (shorts).
