Sins of the past do not nullify what exists since. Would you say that Great Britain is not worthy of calling itself a democratic nation today just because it was once ruled by tyrants who oppressed and denied rights of minorities within its lands? Or Germany? Or South Africa? Is Italy not now free, even though Roman citizens once owned slaves?

Is John Chen not here enjoying our freedom?

PS: Bully for me? No, bully for "us". Are you not proud that America overcame its past mistake of slavery?

PPS: No, America has never been perfect. I never claimed this is Utopia. Yet people from around the world still strive to come here in pursuit of the same "American dream." If we are such an evil people as you suggest, why is that?
