Bombardier Presents Wide Range of Innovative Aircraft at Farnborough Airshow
MONTREAL, QUEBEC--JULY 18, 2002 - 10:57 EDT
Invitation to: imagine. discover. fly.
Bombardier Aerospace lands at the 2002 Farnborough Air Show next week with a total of 10 aircraft on static display and representation from its Business Aircraft, Regional Aircraft and Defence Services business units.
Bombardier Business Aircraft products on display at the show will include the Bombardier Learjet(R) 31A light business jet, the Learjet 45 super-light and the Learjet 60 midsize business jets, as well as the intercontinental Challenger(R) 604 and the ultra long-range Global Express(R) aircraft.
Bombardier regional aircraft at Farnborough this year include the company's two 70-seat airliners, the Bombardier Q400* turboprop and the Bombardier CRJ700* regional jet. Bombardier Defence Services will additionally display a Canadian Armed Forces Dash(R) 8 Series 100 (CC-142) with an advanced, but low cost system for training military flight navigators.
Bombardier Aerospace's objective of meeting customers' needs is reflected in its slogan: imagine. discover. fly. "We continue to seek opportunities to develop innovative products and services to support our customers' success. Our presence at Farnborough shows our commitment to offer a variety of air transportation solutions to all aviation users whatever their needs," stated Pierre Beaudoin, president and chief operating officer, Bombardier Aerospace.
Bombardier CRJ* Series regional jet and Q* Series turboprop families are complementary products which provide airlines with the fleet flexibility they require to service a wide range of routes on a profitable basis. In addition to offering aircraft with different seat capacities, the families offer commonality benefits in many areas, such as crew training and spare parts.
Bombardier was first to market with a new generation 70-seat turboprop and regional jet. Bombardier identified a requirement for larger members of the Bombardier Q Series turboprop and CRJ Series regional jet to meet market growth, and committed the resources to deliver aircraft to market ahead of its competitors. The unbeatably low operating costs of these aircraft have helped Bombardier secure orders from airlines worldwide.
The same approach is demonstrated through Bombardier's business aircraft offering. Bombardier has the broadest selection of corporate aircraft and services in the industry, ensuring the best possible fit between the customer's mission and the aircraft available to fulfill it.
"Even in these challenging times, we are evermore present with new innovative products demonstrating our resolve to maintain our leadership position," added Mr. Beaudoin.
The 2002 Farnborough Air Show runs from Monday July 22 through Thursday July 26, for trade visitors, and Saturday July 27 and Sunday July 28 for public visitors.
