1967 The Egyptians sent a few hundred thousand troops from the west. The Iraqis sent a few hundred thousand troops from the east. The Presidents of Egypt and Iraq declared their intent to "wipe Israel off the map" Tiny little Israel kicked their butts, occupied buffers in the West Bank and Gaza, and the Arabs went off to the UN and demanded their land back. What precedent is there for the return of the West Bank? Did the US give Okinawa back to Japan, or Texas back to Mexico? The UN resolution was outrageous, yet Israel made an offer two years ago based on the UN resolutions (as President Clinton has pointed out.) Arafat rejected the offer and started blowing up babies.
