Saying that Apple needs "a snappy, gotta-have product introduction every quarter" is not enough. If you want to define what Apple "needs" it has to be in completely realistic terms. Microsoft "needs" snappy new software releases a lot more often too, but saying so means nothing if it is beyond their or anyone's reach.

On another note, beware of Apple and Microsoft's new "Check The Savings" software rebate promo. The only one of the packages with any significant rebate is Microsoft Office X. All of the products, including the Mac or OS X, may be purchased from any authorized retailer anytime during the promotional period with one exception. Microsoft Office X must be purchased on the same day as the qualifying computer or OS X is purchased, and it does not tell you that unless you read the fine print at the bottom of the pdf coupon all the way through. And there's a lot of fine print.
