and tony is of course the real target here as he's pissed so many off. The fbi doesn't even care if it's true or totally made up, totally made up being preferable if they don't have a strong real case. Haven't you ever seen cases where they find someone in trouble who just so happened to know the defendant then have them make up stories about doing crime together just to cut their own time which ends up aiding the police case. A possibilitiy, not saying that it's necessarily the case. Look at the frame jobs at the LA police dept. They did a bit of that just to implicate others for their own crimes. Heck, for all we know cleveland is really the one who did the crimes and he's now blaming tony for it to cut his own time. The fbi is happy because tony is the bigger fish. They probably wouldn't care about cleveland by himself. I think cleveland was attracted to tony because he knew tony knew how to make money. Maybe cleveland took it a step further on his own, if he did indeed even do that. For all we know tony was getting out of nsol and cleveland asked for shares on tony's behalf to get out of nsol without tony's knowledge. We may never know. So many possibilities.

I will say one thing. Tony could have picked his friend a little better here. If you're doing things that piss people in power off, don't hang out with a petty criminal. You need to stay cleaner than everyone else, don't even jay walk or forget to report one penny of income on your tax return.
