Ask ANY National recruiting office when they started hearing about slowdowns, less hiring, and actual layoffs.....Nationally we KNOW it was starting in the spring of 2000....and by Sept 2000, it was being talked about in Association newsletters........ Recruiters are indicators of the economy at least 6-9 months ahead of time..... You would like round pegs to fit in square holes. They don't. Irrational exuberance has something to do with it, as does earnings (or lack of them) in relation to stock price. However much you would like this to be blamed on Bush/Cheney, SMART and educated people know better. And so should you!
