More commentary from the WSJ on options re-pricing and the like:

From an article in today's WSJ, entitled "The Death of the Options Culture": "Some tech companies have canceled out-of-the-money options and issued ew ones at lower prices. The ove faces an accounting hurdle. Despite a high-profile move by Coca-Cola Co. th week, most companies still want to avoid treating options as an expense and deducting them on the income statement. That means they have to wait six months after canceling old options before they issue new ones. The gap creates a perverse employee incentive to keep the share price low in the interim."
