Wayne <Caught me flatfooted>

Hear ya. Happened enough times to me over the past year to prompt a mid-course correction in my tactics.

During the recent correction, shifted some PM capital to a larger allocation in physical PMs.

Most folks would say that doing this sacrifices too much leverage on the upside moves vs what the stocks do.

OTOH....

Many excellent short to intermediate term traders who've emphasized that point, in fact, fail to capture a lot of that greater leverage during the past 12 months. Watched folks all over the web and on WS get faked out time after time, no matter what timing tool box or system they were using. As a result they've be caught <flat footed>, missing important parts major rally legs during the past 12 months.

They make money, yes. BUT, they under performed Frank and the our buy and hold group here. Some of ST and IT traders would have done almost as well in a physical buy and hold over the past 6-12 months!

Perhaps most important? If our time is worth anything, they'd have earned 100 times as much per hour vs all that midnight oil burned up chasing the wiggles.

Just a thought.
