No clearly defined trend, no investment, short or long. The 401K investor is in the process of throwing in the cards. I've had at least a dozen people I know tell me they're going to cash in their 401K. It's difficult trying to explain to someone 10-20 years away from retirement that this may not be in their best interest. They didn't mind giving up some profit, but they're frightened to death about losing principle. (Their words, not mine.) dabum
