I had laser PRK four years ago. It was painful for 1 day per eye (felt like sand), but now my vision is very good. I think that Lasik is preferred because it has less pain. However, PRK has faster healing time. Anyway, having been previously dependent on coke bottles to see, this was a very liberating procedure.

The weird thing was after the surgery, I quit wearing sunglasses. I never knew why, but I just did not like wearing them anymore (to the point where I preferred squinting inthe bright sun). Turns out that I still have an astigmatism, and the shades caused my eyes to dilate, which caused minor visual distortion. I ended up buying a pair of prescription sunglasses.
