Just listened to a message from the CFO on my answering machine. Company did not guide the H&Q analyst down - Analysts thinking went as such - Nike after disapointing this qtr is likely to discount shoes in order to boost sales thus pressuring the retail level to buy their product which would likely cause the retailers to cut back on their Vans orders in addition customers would be more likely to buy nike shoes than other brands. She is completely brain dead - A person who buys a pair of vans is not interested in mainstream Nike and certainly does not hold off buying vans because nikes are 30% off and certainly retailer will continue to stock vans in proportion to the demand and sellthrough. Mr. Westcoat also said that other analysts who understand the story better have maintained their ratings. I am a buyer on the ask in the morning. Company will announce on the 23rd and will not pre announce he said.
