Hi Yaacov. Coco cola was my first stock buy, around 3 years ago. It has done wonderfully and although I realize it is a "stalwart" (per Peter Lynch's book) and not a "growth stock" it has certainly done fine as a growing stock in the years I have owned it.
As the number one known logo in the world, and the number one admired company (by other fortune 500 companies) Coca cola will continue to be loved by investors, especially people like me investing for the first time in a stock. Just remember, the market is never "wrong". (It is wierd sometime, like dragging 3 com and usrx down into the canyons for a while in the late winter) but in the end if investors like a company and feel comfortable with it, the stock will do fine, even if p/e and other usual indicators say otherwise.
And when our other investments are rollar coastering, it is very nice having at least one that rarely goes down more than a dollar or two a day.
